After breakfast , transfer to Mount Nebo - the most revered and holy place in Jordan where tradition has it that God showed Moses the Promised Land into which he was never destined to enter.  On a clear day there is a breathtaking view across the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea, to the domes and spires of Jerusalem and Bethlehem.  En-route to the trailhead we visit the Moses Memorial Church and mosaics. Our trek commences around Mount Nebo, climbing to various view-points which offer stunning vistas of the Dead Sea. We descend via Bedouin settlements and transfer to the Dead Sea where we enjoy a late lunch and refreshing dip in this salty body of water. In the late afternoon we transfer inland to our Eco Lodge, deep in the heart of the mountainous Dana Biosphere Reserve at Wadi Feinan.

Overnight  Feinan Eco – lodge .Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

  3. Day3: Wadi Feinan 20KM

Our real adventure begins this morning as we prepare for the 4 day trek which will lead us deep into the desert, through jebel populated landscape as we make our way towards the marvel of Petra. Our trek commences through ruins, across small wadis with the Edom Mountains in view. Pausing with our donkeys for lunch at Wadi Um Sakakin we enjoy a small excursion off the trail, before continuing on to our campsite at Tlalat Al Sufer. The terrain today is mainly flat, but it will be stony underfoot and there will be very little shade so sun protection is a must ! We camp tonight in a beautiful secluded spot next to the sand dunes.

Overnight Basic Camping. Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

  4. Day4: Wadi Arava – Beer Madkour 20KM

A hearty desert breakfast is served by our Bedouin camping team before we embark upon the camel and donkey track from the campsite towards Alfarsh. Today the terrain is mostly uphill, rising around 500m in total with some minor undulations in places, taking us to 900m above sea level. Soon we reach the hiking trail which we follow all the way to our lunch stop. Our trek continues over the camel track and through an area scattered with sparse acacia trees, until we reach a wide wadi area with lots of small terraces for our penultimate night under the stars!

Overnight Basic Camping. Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

  5. Day 5: Little Petra 20KM

Today we enjoy some of the most un-spoilt and stark terrain of the challenge with views over the Petra Mountains. Climbing gradually for 2 hours we have extensive views of craggy Jabal Haroun (Mount Aaron), the resting place of the Prophet Aaron, brother of Moses and Miriam. Leaving the camel track we follow the trail of Nakev Sleisel which takes us to a height of 1023m. We descend once more before a final push on to the Red Mountains ridge and Mount Quaran where we have lunch overlooking the Araba Valley. In the afternoon we continue walking deep in the wadis to Little Petra - a caravan station since Nabatean times. Here we explore the cave system and temples before continuing to our overnight campsite at Ras Suleiman.

Overnight Basic Camping. Included meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

  6. Day6 Petra 16KM

Today is perhaps the highlight of our challenge as we trek from our campsite on relatively flat terrain towards the famous Red Rose City of Petra. Built more than 2000 years ago the vast complex stretches over several kilometres. A strategic centre for the old silk and spice routes which criss-crossed the Middle-Eats, Asia and Africa, it prospered for many centuries with a population of about 25,000 at the height of its power. The Nabateans built Petra on a terrace pierced from east to west by Wadi Musa (Moses) one of the places where tradition has it that Moses struck a rock and ‘water gushed forth’. The valley is enclosed by sandstone cliffs veined with shades of red, purple and pink, out of which the city’s monuments and temples were hewn. On arrival at the site (after about 2 hours trekking) we climb up to the Monastery. It is Petra’s most awe-inspiring monument and is also one of the most challenging to reach. There are well-worn steps that lead up to the monastery and the climb takes about an hour. We are rewarded tonight with the welcome comfort of a hotel in nearby Wadi Musa.

Overnight Standard hotel. Included meals: Breakfast , lunch , dinner

  7. Day 7: Petra - Aqaba

After an early breakfast we have time to explore the impressive ruins further with our local guide before returning to Wadi Musa for lunch. We then transfer south to the Red Sea resort of Aqaba where we have time to freshen up before our celebratory dinner.

Overnight Standard hotel. Included meals: Breakfast ,  lunch , dinner

  8. Day 8 : Aqaba
