Overview                           

 

Dana -Shobak ride  is the most famous ride  in Jordan , linking Shobak with Dana Biosphere Reserve and Feynan lodge with Petra trough the Shobak heights. Extending approximately 100km from Dana old village to little Petra, the altitude varies from one section to another, starting from 1,300m to 320m above sea level and reaching again to 1665 m above sea level at the half way point. While crossing mountains and plateaus, visitors can explore the magnificent landscape with its breath-taking geological forms and enjoying the awe-inspiring Rift Valley viewpoints. Interacting with the local population during this spectacular crossing, visitors have the phenomenal experience of camping in real goat hair Bedouin tents.

  1. Day 1: Join tour Amman

    Meet, assist and transfer with local representative for check-in at hotel in Amman .

  2. Day 2:Mount Nebo – Madaba - Kings’ highway - Dana Natuer reserve HB

    By Car .

    Buffet breakfast at  hotel in Amman  check out for  full day excursion.

    In the way  we will visit   Mount  Nebo ;the site of Moses’ tomb . From there  Moses viewed the promised Land in Canaan , and died there and was buried in a nearby valley .  Here there are ruins of 4th. and 6th c. churches whose floors are still covered with marvelous mosaic.  Afterwards  to Madaba this town has a long history , being first mentioned in the Bible and in the Mesha Stele when it was a Moabite town, visit St. George orthodox  Christian church the mosaic Map of  Jerusalem, Palestine, Jordan, Israel & Egypt .   Madaba is famous as a land of mosaics!  After Madaba transfer via the Kings’ Highway ; one of the oldest  roads in Jordan , spectacular drive  through wadi Al Wala ; a tributary of  Mujib and the  lower part  is named Wadi Al Heidan  and then to Dhiban , the site attracted the attention of scholars when the Moabite stone , an inscribed stele set up by Mesha , king of Moab about 835 B.C. Dhiban was captured from the Moabites by Sihon king of the Amorites , next transfer via Wadi Al Mujib or the kings’highway to Dana natuer reserve , upon arrival check-in at hotel, dinner and overnight .Or We may stay in camp

  3. Day 3 :- DANA – SHOBAK - FULL DAY HORSE RIDING

    Breakfast at hotel & check out ,  meet with your horse team & start riding  from Dana natuer reserve to Al Bustaan behind you will see more of the stunning geology of this region. The trail will lead you from out of the mountain wilderness and into the countryside, where you will be welcomed into old but still inhabited villages dotted around the foot of the mountain range. In this beautiful green space of terraced orchards, you will see a variety of trees native to Jordan, including pistachio, fig and "Roman" olive trees. The narrow gorge leads the way to Shobak caste, the historical path lined with ancient caves once used as tombs. Tonight We camp in Almonsorah area .

  4. Day 4 : Shaubak Castle - Ras Al Faid (Al Matal ) FULL DAY HORSE RIDING

    Breakfast at camp ,  start riding from the old village of Sihan, which was inhabited by Shobaki locals up until the nineteenth century. Only ruins of the old stone houses now stand witness to a once lively community in Sihan. A high viewpoint is easily reached, rewarding you with magnificent views of Shobak’s proposed protected area. Following the Al Hazeem road you reach the Ras Al Faid area, where you spend your  Ove rnight Camping

  5. Day 5: Al Forn area - Gbour Al Whaidat area FULL DAY HORSE RIDING

    Breakfast at camp & riding up to panoramic views, you will see mushroom shaped rock formations and juniper trees cover the landscape. For two hours the trail snakes up to the peak of Al Saffaha - the perfect spot for a tea break or picnic. Finishing the ride  in Gbour Al Whaidat, you will meet again with your Bedouin hosts , followed by Dinner & O/N camping

  6. Day 6: Gbour Al Whaidat - Little Petra by Al Faresh (Al Baidah ) FULL DAY HORSE RIDING

    Brekfsat at camp  , our  riding take you to your next destination ( Petra) , via Al Farsh (the flat region), which lies west of this area. Be prepared to be astounded by splendid views of Wadi Araba, particularly the flat desert in the heart of the Rift Valley. Wonderment and surprise are the usual reactions upon seeing for the first time the extraordinary colors of the Nabataean capital, Petra; the ancient city of carved and decorated facades. The unique tombs and treasures encloses its visitors into an ancient world, providing a silent narration of the story of its powerful Nabataean past. This story then takes us to Little Petra, the agricultural center famous throughout history as a trading suburb. At the end of this unforgettable day, you will spend the night in Wadi Mousa hotel .

  7. Day 7 : The rose-red adventure (Tour of Petra O/N camping Wadi Rum)

     Walking tours .

    Breakfast at Hotel . At 8:00 am departure for full day excursion to explore the (the Rose-Red city) including the Siq, the Treasury, city centre, the Royal tomb, the theater , Wadi Farasah and the Roman Soldier Tombs. Afternoon Walk back to hotel in Wadi Mousa for freshen- up, check out of hotel for transfer to Wadi Rum , From Petra we immediately head south on the kings highway to Wadi Rum. we We generally arrive late after Sunset  as the hot desert sun starts to set, revealing an evening of incredibly clear skies studded with stars. Bedouin dinner around the campfire, watch the stars twinkle to life in the night sky, and sleep in true local style in a Bedouin tent .

  8. Day 8:- Wadi Rum jeep tour – Aqaba

    Breakfast at the camp , check-out and enjoy 2 hrs Jeep safari .  we  marvel at majestic red, pink and gold mountains, canyons and valleys , 

     

    Soak up the spectacular desert wilderness of Wadi Rum on this day tour Head deep into the UNESCO-protected region and marvel at its epic mountains, gorges, valleys and rock carvings on a jeep Safari .  an unforgettable experience.

    we finsh our jeep ride in Rum Village , 01hrs transfer to Aqaba , drop-off  at hotel around 2:00 Pm , time to freshen up,  free evening to treat yourself in a good restaurant in Aqaba

Meals

In the desert all meals are prepared fresh and cooked over an open fire. You will be pleasantly surprised by the variety and standard of food served to you.  We also accommodate vegetarian meals.

At hotels, we will generally eat in the hotel and enjoy a selection from the buffet for breakfast.

 

Camping

We always use spectacular wilderness areas. We decide the exact location, depending on the weather and the season.  We never stay at the same camp.  We always change camps sites . We provide the following camping equipment

 

  • Mattresses.
  • 2 man Tents Large enough . 2 persons.
  • Carpets.
  • Candle light.
  • Firewood.
  • All cooking supplies.
  • Washing Facilities.
  • Sleeping bags.
